that sleeps on the stairs.
He’s hard to jump over
but nobody cares.

There’s a possum that plays
in the kitchen at night.
Last Christmas she gave Nan
a terrible fright.

We have to look under
a huge crocodile,
to find matching socks
in the clean washing pile.
There’s a numbat who lurks
near the old pantry door.
We never get ants
in the jam anymore!
